Who We Support

Black Girls of All Ages

Support for Black girls to grow with confidence, self-worth, and emotional strength. We create space for them to feel seen, heard, and rooted in who they are becoming.

Black Women At Every Stage of Life

Therapy for Black women in Toronto and Ontario

We’re here for Black women – at every age, in every chapter. Whether you’re healing, growing, or simply holding it all together, GRO offers a space where your fun self is seen, supported, and celebrated.

Black Couples + Relationships

We centre the unique dynamics of Black love – exploring communication, conflict, generational influences and intimacy through a culturally aligned lens.

Our practice is rooted in these values

Grouping

We believe in shared power. As Black women and girls, we’re often expected to carry everything alone – but in this space, you don’t have to. Therapy is not about being told what to do, it’s about being met where you are. We honour your lived experience and walk alongside you as collaborators, entering your voice in every step of the journey.

Groundwork

Black women and girls are often praised for their strength – but true healing begins when we’re given space to simply be. Whether it’s a girl learning to feel safe in their body, a couple working to reconnect with care, or a woman creating stability after survival, we help lay the emotional groundwork to feel whole, grounded, and deeply seen.

Growth

Our communities deserve healing that grows with us. We reject one-size-fits-all approaches and believe therapy should reflect your truth, not just textbook theory. As clinicians, we remain students of the work – committed to evolving so that you can too. Growth here is radical, personal, and always possible.

The Heart Behind GRO

Sheniqua’s journey — shaped by 10 years as a single mother, now a wife, a therapist, and a Black woman continually navigating love, identity, and healing — is at the root of GRO. Her lived experience grounds the values we hold, the people we serve, and the space we’ve created for rest, reflection, and resilience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming — especially when it’s your first time or you’re unsure what to expect. At GRO, we’re committed to creating a safe, supportive space from the very beginning. Below are answers to some of the most common questions about working with us, so you can feel more informed and empowered as you take this step.

Each individual moves at their own pace and thus, the number of sessions will vary.

In the beginning, it may be helpful to have the first few sessions on a weekly and/or bi-weekly basis. This frequency helps the therapist-client relationship to form and helps gain traction. Once this happens, we can together decide what frequency best meets your needs.

The first session is structured. This is when we take time to review the details of your intake form and decide where we foresee our future sessions going. It is also the time where you can ask clarifying questions.

Presently, we accept debit/credit card, e-mail transfers and direct billing to insurance providers listed on TelusHealth and ProviderConnect.

Yes, however spots are limited. Feel free to ask during the Meet & Greet.
